While on a speaking tour at military bases in Kaiserslautern district of Southern Germany, Miss Mallard, the world-famous ducktective, and her nephew, Willard Widgeon of the Swiss Police, become involved in a new mystery.

The Central Supply of the largest US Army hospital for ducks in Europe, the Landsduck Regional Medical Center, is being robbed. If the crooks aren't stopped the Center will have to close and so will ducks' US Army and Air Force bases in the area. It is left up to Miss Mallard to solve the case.

She is assigned to "active duty" and goes undercover as one of the staff at the Center to nab the crooks with the help of Willard who is there recovering from a broken leg.

This is the 18th book and second chapter book in Robert Quackenbush's popular Miss Mallard Mysteries.
